Hi everyone! My name is Sonja Woessner, and this is my second year as a kindergarten teacher at CCS. I was a stay-at-home mom before my son started kindergarten last year here at CCS. It's been a blessing getting back into the classroom as teaching is my calling and my passion!
I grew up in Goldsboro but am originally from Upstate New York. I am a "Southern-Fried Yankee" through and through! I moved to Wilson County after marrying my husband, Chris, in 2014. We have one son, Gabriel, who is entering first grade this year.
I graduated from East Carolina University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education K-6 with a Concentration in Reading K-12 and taught five years in the Wayne County Public Schools. I was a First Grade Instructional Assistant for eight years in Wayne County prior to getting my teaching degree. While I was an instructional assistant, I taught children with autism and other disabilities for seven years at a six-week summer camp that took place in Goldsboro. This is my seventh year teaching, but my fifteenth year in education. Before getting into the public school system, I was a daycare director for three years. Working with children has been in my blood since I was a young girl. Teaching is truly a calling and now that I teach in a Christian school, I can share the love of Jesus more freely with my students! I look forward to getting to know you and your children this school year. Welcome to CCS!!

In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."
