SUFFOLK, Va. — Traveling out of state for a Mid-Atlantic Christian Athletic Association 2-A matchup at Suffolk Christian, the Community Christian girls made sure the ride home Friday was an enjoyable one with a 1-0 victory.
The lone goal of the match came in the 15th minute when Ava Dunn finished a pass from Autumn Bradshaw.
“From there, neither team would capitalize for another goal,” CCS head coach Carl Bradshaw described in an email. “We struggled to get another good shot on goal. The field was very bumpy and we had a hard time controlling our first touches and it was difficult to make strong passes.”
Suffolk Christian attempted one shot on goal that was stopped by CCS goalkeeper Claire Carter. Carl Bradshaw praised defenders Libby Bass and Amy Guzman for their performances.
The Cyclones, now 2-0 in MACAA action, evened their overall record to 2-2. CCS will host Southside Christian of the NCCSA 2-A ranks on Monday, March 18, at 6 p.m.
