Host Community Christian utilized its pressure defense to harass Faith Christian into a 28-14 defeat during Mid-Atlantic Christian Athletic Association girls basketball play Tuesday at the Sallie B. Howard School gym.
“I was very pleased with our defensive pressure tonight as we made it very hard for Faith to get a shot off,” said CCS head coach Carl Bradshaw, noting that Faith Christian scored nine points from the foul line but just five points from the floor in the game.
Ava Dunn set the defensive pace with seven steals while the Cyclones, now 10-4 overall and 5-1 in MACAA games, were paced offensively by Autumn Bradshaw with 12 points to go with three rebounds and two assists. Claire Carter added six points and two rebounds.
The Cyclones travel to Pamlico Christian to face its varsity girls team Friday, Jan. 26.
