Freshman Evan Gattis fired in a career-high 38 points as his Community Christian School varsity boys basketball continued its winning streak that started before Thanksgiving by crunching Faith Christian 76-54 on Tuesday night, Jan. 23, at the Sallie B. Howard School gym.
It was the 15th straight win for the Cyclones, now 16-1 overall, who are alone in first place in the Mid-Atlantic Christian Athletic Association 2-A South Region at 6-0. The Conquerors fell to 8-7 and 3-2 with their second loss to CCS.
Gattis, whose previous career-best was 33 points just a couple of weeks ago, added four rebounds and four steals for the Cyclones. Sophomore Chason Bryant also had four steals and four rebounds to go with 11 points while senior Tavares Williams came up with six points, 11 rebounds and four steals.
The Cyclones will visit Pamlico Christian on Friday, Jan. 26, in Bayboro.
