NEWPORT — The Community Christian School boys basketball team made it 15 wins in a row with a 91-60 win on the road Friday over Gramercy Christian.
The win helped the Cylcones improve to 16-1 on the season, as they will put their streak on the line on Tueday, Jan. 23, when they take on Faith Christian of Goldsboro.
A trio of CCS players finished with 20-plus points to power the high-scoring win, as Jared Kovach led the way with 21 points and came away with four steals.
Tavares Williams and Evan Gattis added 20 points apiece, with Williams finishing just shy of a double-double with eight rebounds along with four assists and four steals, while Gattis added five assists and four boards.
Also finishing in double figures was Jack Beamon with 12 points, six rebounds, and four blocks, while the Cylcones also got nine points from Chason Bryant and a team-high 10 rebounds from Cale Pittman.
