Defense was the winning ticket for the Community Christian girls basketball team in 25-6 defeat of visiting Trinity Christian on Friday, Dec. 1, at the Peace Church gym.
Claire Carter led the way with five steals to go with eight points for CCS, which improved to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in Mid-Atlantic Christian Athletic Association 2-A South Region play. Anna Pierce grabbed a team-high eight rebounds to go with six points while Autumn Bradshaw added six points and two steals.
The Cyclones host Ahoskie Christian in a nonregion encounter Thursday, Dec. 7, at Peace Church.
