LASKER – Community Christian couldn’t cross the goal line in the second half as host Northeast Academy pulled away to a 34-20 eight-player football victory Friday night.
The Cyclones (2-3) and Eagles (3-1) were tied 20-all at halftime before Northeast added a pair of touchdowns after intermission to get revenge for its only loss, a 22-20 setback Aug. 25 at CCS.
Freshman quarterback Jack Beamon had one of his best passing nights of the season with three touchdowns and 193 yards on 12-of-22 attempts.
Senior Matthew Jackson snared two passes for 57 yards and a TD while sophomore Stephen Edwards netted 46 yards and a TD on two catches while also running for 78 yards on 23 carries. Sophomore Bailey Bunn led with four receptions for 50 yards.
Jackson’s 11 solo tackles anchored the defense while Edwards and freshman Caleb Taylor had eight stops each. Josh O’Brient ran in a two-point conversion for CCS.
