A two-game skid for the Community Christian School varsity volleyball team ended Tuesday with a five-set win over visiting Mid-Atlantic Christian Athletic Association foe Trinity Christian of Greenville.
The Cyclones, now 3-2 overall and 1-1 in MACAA play, had to battle back after dropping the first and third sets in the 22-25, 25-8, 25-27, 25-14, 15-13 triumph. The CCS attack was spread out with freshman Claire Carter, senior Katie Mangum and senior Taylor Ricks each producing four kills. Carter led CCS with 16 service points, including three aces, while eighth grader Libby Bass served four aces in her 15 points.
Senior Faith Jones and junior Gracie Beamon each served two aces and eighth grader Autumn Bradshaw passed out 14 assists to go with 14 points, including four aces, and a kill. Jones added three kills and a pair of assists while Beamon had two kills and a block. Olivia Carter made two blocks.
