Taylor Ricks helped her Community Christian School varsity volleyball team win its first two matches of the season, making her the Farris & Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Taylor led the Cyclones in kills in each match, totaling five in their season-opening sweep of Sallie B. Howard on Thursday at Peace Church. She then tallied seven kills as CCS took care of Northeast Academy in three sets Monday.
The daughter of Rachel Ellis of Wilson and Brian Ricks of Roanoke Rapids, Taylor has a 3.6 GPA at CCS while also taking Career & College Promise dual-enrollment courses through Wilson Community College. She is a member of National Honor Society and Future Farmers of America at Community Christian School, where she also is a cheerleader and plays soccer.
Taylor is active at Peace Church and works part-time at It’s A Vibe Nutrition in Nashville. She plays for Eastern Elite Volleyball club of Goldsboro and hopes to attend Alexander Paul Institute of Hair Design in Greenville next year.
