AHOSKIE – Host Ahoskie Christian sent four runners across the plate in the bottom of the fourth inning to pull away to a 6-3 varsity baseball win over Community Christian in six innings Tuesday.
The Cyclones, now 4-7 overall and 1-4 in Mid-Atlantic Christian Athletic Association play, led 3-1 heading into the bottom of the fourth after scoring twice in the top of the inning.
Freshman Tyler Spivey had three of the Cyclones’ nine hits, going 3 for 3 with an RBI while eighth grader Jack Beamon doubled and tripled in three at-bats. Freshman Ethan Arizpe also doubled and drove in a run for CCS.
Senior Noah Pierce took the pitching loss despite striking out 10 Ahoskie Christian hitters. He gave up six runs, but only three were earned, on six hits and two walks.
