The Community Christian School girls soccer team emphatically bounced back from two straight losses Tuesday night, coming away with a 9-0 drubbing of visiting Mid-Atlantic Christian Athletic Association North Region foe Bethel Assembly Christian.
The Cyclones, who improved to 5-2-1 overall and 3-1 in North Region play, had dropped its past two games after starting the season with a six-game unbeaten streak.
Abigail Jackson and Katelyn Brown each scored two goals against the Eagles (0-4, 0-4). Autumn Bradshaw and Abril Ventura tallied a goal and an assist apiece, Payton Dunn, Claire Carter and Tate Misback each scored and Taylor Ricks and Ava Dunn each added an assist.
“A game like this is good to allow everyone to get a lot of touches on the ball and work on things that we want to focus on moving forward into the season,” emailed CCS head coach Carl Bradshaw. “I was very pleased with the girls and their unselfish play.”
The Cyclones will host Suffolk Christian Academy on Friday. The Knights currently sit 1-1 in North Region play, behind CCS and Christ Covenant.
