WINTERVILLE — The Community Christian School girls soccer team lost its second game in a row at Mid-Atlantic Christian Athletic Association North Region foe Christ Covenant on Monday.
The Cyclones (5-2-1, 2-1 North Region) and Spartans (5-0-1, 4-0) were scoreless at halftime, but Christ Covenant took a 1-0 lead 15 minutes into the second half.
The Spartans doubled their lead on a penalty kick with 18 minute remaining.
“We played a very good first half with good control of the field, and we had a couple of good chances, but we just couldn’t capitalize,” emailed CCS head coach Carl Bradshaw.
Claire Carter was superb in goal for CCS with 11 saves, and Bradshaw noted that her sister, Olivia Carter, played her best defensive game of the year.
CCS will host Bethel Assembly Christian Academy on Tuesday.
