The Community Christian School baseball team could not keep up with visiting Mid-Atlantic Christian Athletic Association foe Ahoskie Christian on Thursday, falling 20-2 in five innings.
The Warriors (4-1, 2-0 MACAA) jumped out to an 8-0 lead over the Cyclones (3-4, 1-2) in the game’s first inning.
Luke Jones led CCS at the plate with a 2-for-2 game, driving in the Cyclones’ only two runs on the night. Rylan Gay, Noah Pierce and Ethan Arizpe tallied one hit apiece.
Evan Barnhill took the loss on the mound for CCS, yielding five earned runs on six hits while striking out one and walking two in one inning.
The Cyclones will look to bounce back with a visit to Faith Christian on Friday.
