Down two goals at home against the junior varsity girls soccer team from Rocky Mount Faith Christian on Wednesday, the Community Christian middle school girls soccer team rallied for a 3-2 victory.
Ava Dunn scored the first goal for the Cyclones off a pass from Aspen Evans to halve the Patriots’ lead going into halftime.
Evans got the equalizer in the second with Barrett Godwin on the assist before Dunn was fouled in the box with less than five minutes to play in the match. Evans drilled in the penalty kick that proved to be the winning goal.
“Great hustle from Katelyn Brown, Tate Misback and Anna Pierce with some much needed saves and clear outs from goal from Claire Carter!” wrote head coach Claire Brown in an email.
The Cyclones will host Sallie B. Howard School on Thursday, March 30.
