The 2023 middle school Science Fair brought in 100 hypotheses on as many subjects, a range of judges and the first ever honorable mention to add a fourth victor to the top 3. The judges expressed how hard students worked, and that it was impossible to pick just 3 winners from the 6th-8th grade projects.
Seventh-grader Selia Lusby captured first place with her project on music therapy. Cara Jones' (8th grade) bones project came in second, while Sam Lovett (7th grade) placed third with his experiment on Coca-Cola's effect on heart rate. Chason Flora, a sixth-grader, earned an honorable mention with his project on a snowstorm in a jar. Jack Pritchard (8th grade) got the students' choice award for his project on fishing lures.
Congratulations to all the middle school students for a fantastic science fair!
