Cyclones’ comeback bid falls short
NEW BERN — The Community Christian School girls basketball team fell just short in the MACAA title game against New Bern Christian on Saturday, coming away with a 24-22 defeat.
The Cyclones nearly fought all the way back from a 17-4 halftime deficit, outscoring New Bern 16-7 in the game’s second half, but could not quite complete the comeback.
“We told the girls there was no such thing as a 13-point shot, and in order to get back in the game, they were going to have to chip away at the deficit,” emailed CCS head coach Carl Bradshaw.”
Autumn Bradshaw led CCS with 14 points and three steals, followed by Claire Carter with four points and five rebounds, as the Cyclones finished the season with a 12-7 record.
