GRANTSBORO – A horrendous fourth quarter for the Community Christian varsity boys basketball team Friday at Pamlico Christian saw the Cyclones watch a 15-point lead entering the period dissolve into a 60-57 loss.
The defeat left the Cyclones 14-6 overall as they inch closer to the end of the regular season. CCS will visit Faith Christian in Goldsboro on Tuesday and travel to Winterville on Thursday to take on Christ Covenant in a pair of Mid-Atlantic Christian Athletic Association South Region contests.
The Cyclones, who were outscored 24-6 in the fourth quarter by the Mariners (16-5), were led by Ayden Smith with 17 points while Jared Kovach dropped in 11 points. Bryce Pittman added nine for CCS.
