Huston helps Cyclones bury Southside

CLAYTON — Seth Huston, a 6-foot-7 senior, maneuvered his way to 20 points and 12 rebounds to help his Community Christian boys basketball team to a 73-50 conquest of host Southside Christian in North Carolina Christian Athletic Association action Friday.

The win was the second in as many NCCAA outings and pushed the Cyclones’ overall mark to 8-3.

Community Christian outscored Southside (0-7) 17-4 in the second quarter to seize control of the game. Huston had plenty of help as Jared Kovach produced 14 points and five steals by while Bryce Pittman totaled 12 points and seven rebounds. Tavares Williams added nine rebounds and six points.

The Cyclones will face Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf at the Fighting Hornets’ Barney Williamson Gymnasium today.
