The first home game of the season for the Community Christian boys basketball team was a success as the Cyclones drilled Lawrence Academy 55-36 on Tuesday at Williamson Gym on the ENCSD campus.
Evan Gattis dropped in 21 points to lead the Cyclones while Jamir Loftin netted 14 points. Gattis also had eight assists, three steals and two rebounds while Loftin added three rebounds and three assists. Anderson Joyner contributed eight points, four steals, three rebounds and two assists while Jack Beamon corraled eight rebounds.
CCS is off until Friday, Dec. 2, when it hosts the Pitt County Pacers home school team at Williamson Gym.
CCS girls fall to Warriors
Host Community Christian lost to Lawrence Academy 44-10 in girls basketball action Tuesday at ENCSD’s Williamson Gym, dropping the Cyclones to 1-2 on the season
Claire Carter and Mary Abigail Lewin each scored four points for CCS. Carter snatched five rebounds and Hannah Spelll grabbed four boards.
The Cyclones, 1-0 in Mid-Atlantic Christian Athletic Association play, will host Faith Christian of Goldsboro in a conference matchup Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Peace Church.
