GREENVILLE — The Community Christian School girls basketball team came up with a victory in a defensive slug fest Thursday, prevailing 16-10 in a season-opening road contest against Greenville Christian Academy. 

The Cyclones never trailed in the game, taking a quick 6-0 lead and an eventual 12-4 advantage into halftime. 

Lauren Carter led the Cyclones with eight points. 

Community Christian will now go on hiatus for Thanksgiving break before returning to action Nov. 29 against Southside Christian at Peace Gym.
