Ava Pate led her Community Christian School varsity volleyball team to a victory last week at Trinity Christian in Greenville, earning her the Farris & Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week honor.
Ava, a sophomore, served up six aces to go with four kills at the net as the Cyclones won in four sets to improve to 6-4 in their first year in North Carolina Christian School Athletic Association play.
The daughter of Emily and Jody Pate of Bailey, Ava has a weighted GPA of above 4.0 at CCS while taking all Honors courses. She is a member of National Honor Society as well as Future Farmers of America. Ava previously was in Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
She helps coach the junior varsity volleyball team at CCS and plays volleyball on the U16 national team for the FC Firecrackers volleyball club of Louisburg.
